  Cold war 2.0 Re-emerging Global Hostilities.

Cold war was the post world war II phenomena where an open yet restricted rivalry developed between the United State and the Soviet Union and their respective allies. The Cold War was waged on political, economical and propaganda front and had only limited recourse  to weapons. The term first used by the English writer George Orwell  in an article published in 1945 to refer to what he predicted would be a nuclear stalemate between two or more monstrous super-states, each possessed of a weapon by which millions of people cam be wiped out in a few seconds.It was first used in the United State by the American financier and presidential adviser Bernard Baruch in a speech at the State House in Columbia, South Carolina in 1947.

United State Vs China

      

      Few scholar use the term Cold War 2.0 to refer the tension between the United States and China. The prominent realist international relation scholar John Mearsheimer believes that there is a greater possibilities of the U.S. and China going to war in the future than there was of a Soviet NATO war during the Cold War.

     As the strategic and economic center of gravity is gradually shifting from West to East, the earlier U.S.-Soviet competition over the central European landmass will be a history. With President Obama's 'Pivot to Asia' and "Trans Pacific partnership.  U.S.A and China will engage in intense strategic competition , much like the Soviet-American rivalry during the Cold War. 

      The U.S.-China strategic rivalry will have multiple center of gravity . There are many potential hotpots over which the U.S.-China clash may reach a flash point; the Korean Peninsula, the Taiwan Strait and the South and East China Seas.

        Increased Chinese military activity in the South China Sea, claims over dispute islands and going ahead with land reclamation projects has given an indication of assertive China, which USA sees as challenge for its hegemony. Chinese media speculated a new Cold War through the China containment strategies like US deploying the terminal High Altitude Area Defense in South Korea. The Hague-based arbitrary tribunal ruling against China's favor on the South China Sea disputes and United States establishing military, economic and diplomatic ties with countries adjacent to China's borders.

    Scholars believes that US will face a grater challenge than anything it has previously dealt with if China continues to rise economically. With a population size over four times larger than America's and emerging as the ' factor of world' , it will be a must serious challenge than the Soviet Union.

       The Worst Nightmare for the American strategists  will be the Russia China axis as a rival side of new cold war . given China's and receive close proximity and a missile frustration with American International intervention a two-vs-one  scenario is developing.  Synergy between Chinese financial and economic power and Russian world-class military power can easily challenge the Western hegemony.  The rising bilateral trade energy cooperation and convergence on the geopolitical issue like South China Sea and Middle East is consolidating the Russia China axis to successfully counter the western hegemony.
